Why?

When?

If the Check Engine Light comes on, it is a warning of an emissions or sensor problem and should be analyzed. If the light flashes, the condition is more severe and must be checked immediately.

Why?

Batteries have a limited life and eventually need to be replaced. When a battery fails, the vehicle will not start, and could leave you stranded, requiring a tow or battery boost.

When?

» At a minimum, every 6 months (ideally at the beginning of summer and winter).
» If it takes longer than normal to start up or the vehicle fails to crank over at start-up.
» With every oil change.

Why?

A weak component can cause premature wear in other system components or cause the entire system to fail. For example, a weak battery left unchecked can overwork the alternator, ultimately causing it to fail.

When?

Get this test if the dashboard battery warning light is illuminated; when the battery, starter or alternator is replaced; if the vehicle has trouble or fails to crank over at start-up; or there is a noticeable slow cranking or noise on startup.

Why?

Inadequate cooling can be caused by refrigerant leaks, high temperatures, high pressure, or by system restrictions caused by dirt, corrosion, moisture and air.
